Even though the race was the unofficial start to the season for the cross country programs, the young runners were introduced to a strong tradition at the Alumni Invitational.

Widener's women's cross country team for the third straight year has been named a Division III All-Academic Team by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
