Widener tuned up for the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships as several runners competed at the Haverford Invitational in Haverford, Pa.

Sophomore Ernie Pitone (Springfield, Pa) finished the eight kilometer course in 24:49 as Widener men's cross country placed 18th at the Princeton Invitational in West Windsor, NJ.

After an impressive showing at the prestigious Paul Short Invitational this past weekend, Widener moved into the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Top 35 Poll as the 28th-ranked team in the country.

A strong run against strong competition was plenty to get Widener sophomore Ernie Pitone (Springfield, PA) named the Middle Atlantic Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

Widener Cross Country had a successful day on the trails at the prestegious Paul Short Invitational on the campus of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.

Senior Chris Garrity (Glenolden, PA) led Widener at the Main Line Invitational held in Haverford, Pa.

Widener men's cross country finished sixth at the Osprey Open hosted by Richard Stockton College in Galloway, NJ.

It was just another day at the office for Widener's men's cross country team, which captured the Delaware Valley Invitational in Doylestown, PA and saw all five of its runners place among the top 17.

Even though the race was the unofficial start to the season for the cross country programs, the young runners were introduced to a strong tradition at the Alumni Invitational.
