Indoor Track & Field: Records Broken at Kenyon Classic

GAMBIER, Ohio - The Westminster College men's and women's indoor track & field teams competed in the Kenyon College Classic on Saturday. The Titan men's team finished third out of seven schools with 78 points, while the Titan women's team placed fifth out of seven schools with 72.75 points.

Titan sophomore Katelynn Morrell (Boardman, OH / Boardman) placed third out of 24 runners in the 1-mile run with a school record time of 5:33.85. Sophomore Doltyn Snedden (Windber, PA / Forest Hills) placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a school-record time of 9.04.

Freshman Jametrius Bentley (Lake Worth, FL / Park Vista Community) won the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.16 and also placed second in the 200-meter dash with a personal-best time of 23.39. Three Titans earned third place in their respective events: junior Jake Dindak (Pittsburgh, PA / Baldwin) in the 400-meter dash (52.65), junior Andrew Brannen (Pittsburgh, PA / Peters Township) in the pole vault (indoor personal-best 4.42m), and junior Nick Fiorentino (Franklin, PA / Franklin) in the shot put (13.01m).

The Titan women's team swept the top three spots of the pole vault, led by junior Marissa Kalsey (Waynesburg, PA / Waynesburg) who tied a season-best mark of 3.81 meters. Senior Brittany Majors (Wampum, PA / Ellwood City) placed second (3.36m), while sophomore Cassidy Shepherd (Greensburg, PA / Salem) placed third (3.36m). Shepherd also placed fifth in the 60-meter dash with a season-best time of 8.36.

Westminster will next compete at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Championships on Thursday, hosted by Youngstown State University.
