Track & Field: Gabor Sets 400 Record, Again, at North Central

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Westminster College men's and women's track and field teams competed in their final meet before the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships at the Gregory Invitational last chance qualifier. The event was hosted by North Central College.

Titan senior Haley Gabor (New Kensington, PA / Ford City) lowered her time in the 400, breaking her own school record with a time of 56.35 for second-place. Gabor currently stands in a tie for 16th in the country. The top 22 times qualify for Nationals.

Junior Jenny Jones (Erie, PA / Fort LeBoeuf) set a personal-best time in the 5,000 meter-run with a time of 18:48.75, only about a second off from a school record.

For the men, Titan freshman Scott Hughes (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler) set a pair of personal-bests in the 100 and 200. Hughes clocked in at 11.80 in the 100 and 23.22 in the 200. Also earning a personal-best was sophomore Anthony Yasko (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) in the 200 (23.80).

Senior Anthony Thomas (New Castle, PA / Union) added a second-place finish in the long jump (6.87m).

Qualifying Titans will travel to Delaware, Ohio for the 2014 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University, May 22-14.
