NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College will induct six new members into the Titan Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, September 20. The Class of 2014 is as follows: Dudley Giles ‘84, Baseball; Jacob Gleason ‘02, Cross Country, Track & Field; Jim James Jr. ‘79, Meritorious Service/Football (posthumously); Eric Mojock ‘02, Swimming & Diving; Suzanne Fitz Ortiz ‘03, Volleyball; Dave Schrecengost ‘64, Baseball, Men's Basketball.

The events include a luncheon for inductees and their immediate families at 11:30 a.m., recognition at halftime of the Westminster-Bethany football game that kicks off at 1:00 p.m., and the induction dinner at the Witherspoon Room in the McKelvey Campus Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. Please contact the Department of Athletics (724-946-7307) for information or reservations for the Hall of Fame induction dinner.

The following are biographies of each of the inductees:

DUDLEY GILES '84
BASEBALL

A four-year letterman for the Westminster baseball team, Giles was an All-District 18 First Team honoree in 1982 and 1983.

Giles was the Gene Waldron Award recipient in 1983, an award presented to the top junior NAIA scholar-athlete. For his career, Giles pitched 27 games and tallied a 12-7 record along with 86 strikeouts and a 4.19 earned run average.

Giles was just as impressive off the field as he was a two-time NAIA Academic All-American ('83, '84).

A West Middlesex H.S. graduate, Giles was a biology major at Westminster. He currently resides in Palm City, FL, where he is a plastic surgeon. He has two children: a daughter, Emma, and a son, Garrett.

JACOB GLEASON '02
CROSS COUNTRY / TRACK & FIELD

A four-year letterman in both cross country and track & field for the Titans, Gleason was a David B. Fawcett Award recipient, an honor bestowed upon the top male senior student-athlete who best exemplifies the qualities of fairness, sportsmanship, leadership, determination and competitiveness.

A two-time team MVP and two-time team captain in cross country, Gleason was the top finisher for the Titans in the GLIAC Cross Country Championship as a freshman and sophomore.

Gleason earned PAC Coaches honors in cross country as a junior and senior as he placed first in the PAC Championships in both seasons. He placed 10th (2001) and 23rd (2000) in the NCAA D-II Regional Cross Country Championship Meet as a senior and junior. Gleason was a multiple ECAC cross country Runner of the Week honoree as a senior. For track & field, Gleason was a two-time Team MVP and team captain. He also earned PAC Coaches honors as a senior.

A Uniontown H.S. graduate, Gleason was a biology major at Westminster. He currently resides in Zanesville, OH, where he is the head coach of the men's and women's cross country and track & field teams at Muskingum University. He and his wife, former Titan runner Holly (Daugherty) Gleason ‘02, have three children: Elijah, Anna, and Elliott.

JIM JAMES JR ‘79 (posthumously)
MERITORIUS SERVICE / FOOTBALL

James was a three-year letterman and three-year starter for the Westminster football team.

James started on the offensive line for the 1976 and 1977 NAIA National Championship Teams for the Titans.

He played on teams whose combined record was 33-4-2.

A long-time member of the TTO Executive Committee where he also served as President, James supported and was involved in many initiatives and projects through the years that have benefitted and will continue to benefit Westminster student-athletes and its intercollegiate athletic program. He passed away in October, 2013. He and his wife, former Westminster Director of Alumni Relations Mary (Cooley) James '84, have two daughters, Elizabeth James and Emily (James) Petitt '08, and one granddaughter, Ellie Petitt.

ERIC MOJOCK '02
SWIMMING & DIVING

A four-year letterman for the Westminster swimming & diving team, Mojock was the team MVP as a senior and team co-captain as a junior.

Mojock earned CSCAA NCAA D-II All-American honors in the 100 backstroke as a senior (12th place).

Mojock earned PAC Coaches Honors as a junior and senior in the 200 and 400 medley relays. He earned All-GLIAC recognition in the 100 backstroke as a freshman and sophomore and was a member of the GLIAC championship team as a freshman.

Mojock still has the second best all-time mark in the 100 backstroke and the seventh best mark in the 200 backstroke in Titan swimming & diving history.

A Kennedy Catholic H.S. graduate, Mojock majored in biology with a minor in English at Westminster. He currently resides in Alliance, OH, where he is the head men's and women's swimming & diving coach at the University of Mount Union.

SUZANNE FITZ ORTIZ '03
VOLLEYBALL

A four-year letter winner for the Titan volleyball team, Fitz was a team co-captain as a senior.

Fitz earned All-PAC First Team honors in 2002 and PAC Coaches Honors in 2000 and 2001.

Fitz was a member of the 2002 PAC Championship Team and of the 2001 ECAC Championship Team.

She ranks first all-time in kills (1,468) and second in blocks (578) in school history.

A Strongsville H.S. graduate, Fitz was a business administration major at Westminster. She currently resides in Parma, OH where she is the Program Coordinator at Corporate College, a Division of Cuyahoga Community College. She and her husband, Eric, have one son Dominik.

DAVE SCHRECENGOST '64
BASEBALL / BASKETBALL

A four-year letterman and starter in baseball, Schrecengost was also a three-year letterman and a two-year starter in basketball for Westminster.

In baseball, Schrecengost was a First Team NAIA All-American and First team All-WPIAC as a senior, a year in which he also served as team captain and was named Team MVP after leading the Titans with a .391 batting average. Schrecengost led the Titans in RBI's as a sophomore, junior, and senior (second on the team as a freshman). He was second on the team with a .325 batting average as a freshman. Schrecengost was the starting first baseman on teams that won the WPIAC baseball championship three of the four years he played.

In basketball, Schrecengost was the team co-captain as a senior. He was the 6th man on the 1961-62 team which was voted the No. 1 small college team in country after finishing as NAIA National Runners-Up. A starter as a junior and senior, Schrecengost was the third leading scorer on the 1964 WPIAC championship team. He was a member of teams that won the WPIAC basketball championship three of the four years he played.

A Kittanning, PA H.S. graduate, Schrecengost majored in political science at Westminster. He currently resides in Marietta, GA, where he retired after 22 years of teaching and coaching and 25 years in the business world as a regional vice president. He and his wife, Sandra, have been married for 44 years. They have two children named Matt and Molly, and three grandchildren.
